Alain Bernard Mukuralinda, widely known as Alain Muku, was a multifaceted Rwandan professional recognized for his contributions to law, governance, and music.​

Early Life and Education

Born in Kigali in 1970, Mukuralinda began showcasing his musical talent at the age of nine. He pursued his secondary education at APE Rugunga and Ecole Secondaire de Rwamagana, focusing on economics. His academic journey led him to Belgium, where he earned a law degree from Université catholique de Louvain in 1998. ​

Legal and Government Career

Mukuralinda’s legal career commenced in 2002 when he became a National Prosecutor and later served as the Spokesperson for the National Public Prosecution Authority. In December 2021, he was appointed as the Deputy Government Spokesperson, a role he held until his passing. His dedication to justice extended to assisting the Rwandan diaspora with legal and administrative matters, aiming to resolve their issues efficiently without necessitating their presence in Rwanda. ​

Musical Endeavors

Parallel to his legal career, Mukuralinda was an accomplished musician. He began his musical journey in 1990 with the Impala studio and gained recognition for songs like “Musekeweya.” Beyond performing, he was instrumental in promoting fellow artists, notably bringing attention to Nsengiyumva Francois, known as ‘Igisupusupu.’ In September 2023, he released “Afrika, Afrika,” a song encouraging African unity and self-reliance.

Personal Life

Mukuralinda married Martine Gatabazi in 2006, whom he had known since primary school. The couple had children together. His commitment to family was evident when he relocated to Europe and later to Côte d’Ivoire to support his wife’s career advancements. ​
